Mysore Vasudevachariar

Mysore Vasudevachariar was born in the year 1863. His father was a scholar who was patronised by the Mysore court. He joined the Mysore Maharajah's Sanskrit College in 1876 and learnt Sanskrit and music. He studied music under Patnam Subramanya Iyer. He served as a Palace Tutor in Music at Mysore.
He was honoured with the title of Sangita Sastra Ratna by the late Maharajah of Mysore and he was the Asthana Vidwan at the Mysore Court.
Vasudevachariar has composed many Varnams ands Kritis in Sanskrit and Telugu. His composition Brocheva Revarura in Kamas raaga became very popular after it appeared in the Telugu film "Shankarabharanam".
Most of his krithis end with 'Vasudeva' which is an identification of his composition.
