What is a Thillana ?

Thillana (also called tillana) is a short and crisp form of music piece in Carnatic music, generally performed at the end of a concert and widely used in dance performances.

Thillanas invariably contain lyrics and jatis. Rarely kritis contain jatis. This differentiates thillana from a krithi.
